3/14/2023 0 Comments Extend efi system partition![]() When I right click on the EFI System Partition, everything is grayed out except "Help." Both partitions are colored blue for primary partition and are labeled "healthy." I also read somewhere that I can do a "clean" erase of this drive with the command prompt that should delete this partition. When I right click my partition with all my data, "Extend Volume" is grayed out. Is this true? But Disk Management won't let me delete this partition. However, after some Googling, I read somewhere that this partition is needed for firmware updates. I don't want any partitions on this drive. But I noticed in Disk Management it still has a 200 MB EFI System Partition. I bought it to replace an older drive and transferred all my data to it. It came formatted for Mac, so I reformatted it NTFS for my Windows 8 PC. I just bought a new external hard drive, the G-Technology G-Tech 2TB.
